Ratcliffe Appointed to Work on Historic Knaresborough Building

The team at Ratcliffe are currently undertaking the restoration of a historic building in Knaresborough dating from the early 17th Century.

Before works could commence detailed records had to be produced including photographs, 3D surveys, drawings and condition surveys. The grade II listed building requires extensive structural support and façade retention together with internal alterations to form a butcher’s shop and two dwellings. The repairs include traditional lime based techniques and oak carpentry together with modern helical ties and the installation of a new steel frame.
